One journalist died in Thailand, together with 18 more in the crush between the anti-government protesters and the armed police. Mr. Hiroyuki Muramoto was shot to death. He worked for Reuters. His articles are on the web. On Anime, on protesters, still there.

So many have died. Thailand used to be such a peaceful nation even at the time of crises like these. The sympathizers are in the army, the protesters shoot at the law enforcement officers with M-16's.

The protesters, former prime minister Shinawatra supporters, many of the protesters are from northeast part of the country. The former prime minister was popular in rural area for his populist agenda, and was charged with corruption cases. He was accused of wrong doings in selling his company Shin corporation to Singapore company Temasek Holdings. Last month, 60% of his assets were seized by the order of the court, 10% equivalent to around $30 million out of which just were taken out for unknown purposes. They say, the protesters are being paid and organized by Taksin Shinawatra.

Negotiations between the government and the protesters are expected on Sunday.
