I went to a few stores to buy a bicycle. Amazing thing was that no one knows just about anything about the products they are selling. The same happens when I asked about cell-phones. Just no one, not a single seller knew the exact rate of calls. And no sellers knew exactly when the next items will come (probably this week). "We do not have the tool" to adjust the height of the saddle. How much is this? "I do not know. I do not find the barcode". How much for a minute? "I do not know." When does this expire? "I do not know." Which one has the lowest rate? "I do not know." "The rate of this one is the best (which was not)." I should add that one of the bicycle was broken. But they have good systems to solve the problem. There are a notebook computer next to the items they are selling which is connected to the Internet. Many stores have automated checkout machines, and shopping is easy in the States. As I ride on, I've got some comments say: a new bike, you'd not be short on gas.
They say bad things about police in the States but I found them, at least one, was well trained and attentive. I was using iPad for the map in front of the police department, and an officer came up and asked "oh that is the iPad. What do you use that for?" in a tone that is not offensive. I showed him the map and asked about the directions. He knew the way to get there, and the instruction was precise. All I am saying is, when he looked at the map, he did not take up iPad -- a gesture that might cause suspicions that the plain cloth officer might be something else.
One good thing is that even if I scream anywhere, no one ever even turn their heads. They talk so loud that not only within their houses but the voices just echoes in the valley of buildings. In the morning, loud talking. During, loud screams. In the evening, parties. There is no gender difference. Women are as loud as men. English as well as Spanish. Spanish may be louder, but not necessarily. The voice of woman literally screaming "I DO" "RIGHT!" "WHAT!" "STOP!" "GO!" "COME!" "Oh!!" "GHUUUUR" "ALREADY!" "RIGHT NOW!" "THAT'S RIGHT" "YEAH". Female voices are high in pitch so it sounds even more, I suppose. Once again. "READY!" "RIGHT!" "NO!" "GUY!" "OOOOHHH!!" "CAN" and singing in such a shrill, which turns into a scream. There is a community where Jesus Christ statues are in every yard. Now someone dropped a glass bin. Probably I have never met anyone like that in my whole life. It seems the weaker in the social latter, the louder the voices are. In civilized society, people argue, use language and make an agenda. In the end, understanding will not be an issue in such a circumstances. There are deals, good ones and bad ones, and the factors in making them would vary and they are what both parties must know.
