ASEAN started and there are some moves in the States and Japan that is encouraging in terms of gaining supports on North Korean issue. In the States, however, the polarized views are apparent. For those "who cares" group is too eager to taking a soft stance against China. Those are challenged by those who are properly concerned about the national security and joblessness in the States.
The conflicting views are on Japan, one being dangerous if let corrupt with the Chinese government. The other being the region is better off in cooperation considering the cultural similarities. The truth is in both, the corruption between the governments would lead to a situation where no one would benefit from, while the mutual understanding on people's level will bring the region prosperity and industriousness.
