On Saturday

The World Bank seems to have made a compromising deal that writes off its debts with the rare metal rich Congolese government, which is accused of its repressive and irresponsible rules.

There are the pictures of President Obama and G8 leaders at G8 summit. The give and takes and the deals, the human dramas of them, are curiously moving.  They are the elected officials, and they appeal, perhaps not only to their peoples but to the people around the globe in their ways of being human.  The indignations and prayers -- and they are capable of taking them all.  They are responsible, and should be held accountable for their deal making, be it on nuclear weapons in Iran and North Korea or the yuan rate.

I met a person who has been to Japan during the after-war era in 1946 and 47, who opposes the war in Iraq and participated in the opposition movements.  He said his ancestor is from Italy and still consider himself an Italian, though he has never been there.  He said he is not too happy with the unfair healthcare systems in the US.  The US healthcare costs are a few times or even several times more expensive than in other countries.

President Obama announced $2 billion for solar systems.  The project will include solar panel factories as well as solar power plants.  The loan guarantees will be from last years' stimulus package.

The iPad can carry the maps, drawings, browsers, iBooks, music, video, etc.  Its influence is obvious in Windows platform, where multitouch screen is gaining popularity.  Writing applications on multitouch Window 7, iPad, Android slate PC's will be fun.  There will be a slate PC market, they would sell.  Is Apple on our side or not?
