On Thursday

The senate voted 63-27 for confirmation on Elena Kagan's appointment to the Supreme Court. She will be the fourth female judge at SCOTUS. President Obama hailed the confirmation.

Sen. Levin from Michigan and Sen. McCain from Arizona were debating on hate crime issues in the military on the senate floor. It was a classical Democrats arguing for the agenda while Republicans defending for the classical notion of conservatism. Sen. Levin was eloquent; Sen. McCain was not. Sen. Levin asked Sen. McCain "you have voted for the last bill" and "you are not answering my questions". Sen. McCain said "it is a social agenda" repeatedly.

What is amazing is that the senators are literally writing to twitter and are open to public.

In the train, I saw people using smart phones, an usual scene in such places. Today, there are three iPhone users. The address book has photos on it. She may have been accessing the Facebook. One of whom I asked the directions and asked if it is iPhone 4. She said, "yes, it has GPS (and told me what the name of the street). No, it is 3.5 but I still enjoy it".
