Weekend Trip to Blue Hill Reservations

Blue Hill Reservations is a state park that locates south of Boston. We went to hike to the top of the hills. Despite the twist and turns that we had to make to figure out how to get there, we managed to drive right in the state park. There were huge crowds near the pond in the park. The beach of the lake was packed with people and their cars were overflowing to the roads.

The trail was pretty hard to follow. We climbed up the hill and met just a few people up there. There supposed to be a nice view of Boston. We managed to go up to seemingly the highest point but there were no marking of any kind. There are other trails and we went right and left to find out in the end we concluded the place we just passed was the destination. We went back to the parking lot where we parked the car and enjoyed the scenery from there. Boston is a beautiful city. But beauty does not guarantee morality nor conscientiousness. Boston does not and should not have a uniform voice.

Brian agreed on that Boston is a beautiful city. He said he went to the Freedom Trail today and said that he found out a celebration for a Saint at North End. Indeed, I did not know there could be such a festivity going on there where Irish and Italian communities are. He said there will be another feast tomorrow. The feast is peculiar -- they seem to put paper bills on a statue and use them for religioius purposes. I said to him something rather insensitive -- in Boston many religions can coexist side by side, there are mosques, synagogues, and Buddhist temples. Brian is an intern from Netherland. He is from Limburg region, where the Catholics are dominant. Religion is such a delicate topic. I have the feeling that he did not want to hear his religion only can not really own Boston that many cherish their own traditions.
