Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan's New Cabinet

The Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan announced its new cabinet members on 17th. The new foreign minister Seiji Maehara, the former head of the party, is known for his tough stance over foreign policies. China seems to have been resentful for the move and demonstrations have been held in some parts of the world.

I would welcome if Japan is to be able to have a say to China. When four Japanese prisoners were executed in spring this year by the Chinese government, the prime minister at that time did not even announce resentment officially. When the Chinese government executed UK prisoner, the UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the Foreign Minister David Miliband did protest its vandalism early this year in vain.

Having said that however, any sort of conflicts would harm business while the yen rate could be affected in favor of the Japanese economy. The repulsion on the Chinese side is the sure sign that the new foreign minister is expected to be free from corruptions. Whether he moves to calm them down or whether he could stand the criticisms -- a lot to be expected.
