President Obama spoke online, hosted by OFA. He thanked all the supporters for their efforts. OFA director Mitch talked about the absentee ballot and said more Democrats turned out than Republicans, which is encouraging. When the hermit changes its shell, it takes such precautions and premeditation for quite bit amount of time. It measures the sizes of the shell by its chelipeds, turns the shell upside down, and all the while measuring the sizes of it. When it decides its mind, it takes a bit of courage on its side. It took off its abdomen out of the shell, exposing its soft bellies, then jump in to the new shell. Meanwhile, it does not get its chelipeds off from the previous shell. When the new shell is not good, either being too heavy or too big, it jump right back into the previous shell.
I feel very dear to the hermit because of its hesitation and its courage to move on. It quickly detract itself into the shell and its move is conducted via electricity, as in shrimps. When in fight, it defend itself with chelipeds and attack the enemies with chelipeds, sometimes succeeded in taking them out of the shells, which lead easily to its death. It is sensitive to sound, light intensity, vibration, oxygen contents of the water, and temperature. It is active when the oxygen concentration is high and the temperature is high enough. In those days, when the water is getting cold, you would find them in the tide pools less agile.
