Budget cuts; the media freedom in Russia

President Obama is to announce the budget cut of $1.1 trillion over the next ten years.  The cuts will be on earmarks and they say certain senior Democrats will complain.  When the tax cuts were in effect, it is going to be a difficult task.  



The Russian government issued a visa for the Guardian reporter Luke Harding, who has been denied the entry to the country.  He described the nation as "virtual mafia state."  The question is, is this good, or bad news for Russia?

The media is the shield that protect the citizens from powers. Unless you are in the position to call to make a change. The powers, are limitless otherwise. They can be ruthless, lawless, and without rules.

In the face of the government's cruelty such as burning letters to the political prisoners, Solzhenitsyn wrote -- how is it that we just do not cease to be surprised? His optimism is from his conviction and compassion in the fellow citizens. He wrote, I still can praise the acts of those heroes -- it means I was not totally damaged.
