Ending the subsidies to oil companies

The gas prices are still high, and the oil companies are making $4 billion a week. 

So where are the voices of people who suffer from the high oil prices? Should there be not a fair competition, the fair business practices that lowers the prices of gas? There are hardly any industries that are not affected by the gas prices. And now, why does the price hikes coincide with the election cycle?

President Obama in his weekly address said his task force led by the attorney general Eric Holder will conduct the investigation for "rooting out cases of fraud or manipulation in the markets that might affect gas prices, including any illegal activity by traders and speculators".  

The oil companies are making the record profits, that could amount to $200 billion this year because of the high gas prices.  At the same time, they are one of the largest recipients of tax subsidies.  The President referred to the congressional efforts to eliminate the taxpayer subsidies we give to oil and gas companies.
