The Senate voted down the Swipe Fee Reform delay bill by 54-45 on Wednesday. The credit and debit card 'interchange fees' tripled over the last decade in this unfair and uncompetitive market. The both sides, the retailers and consumers and the Wall Street reportedly fought hard on this issue. The bill that was voted down meant to delay the cap on the interchange fees for 15 months. The measure will be implemented next month as scheduled.
