The UK people, according to the Economic article, seem to be in a state of shock because of the riots where so many participated in looting and violence.
All English media is relatively keeping silence over the riots and the causes of them. There have been 3300 cases reported and two deaths. Just because they are not vocal about the matter, there are no voice around the globe to 'explain' what happened, nor analysis of all concerned. Is it the austerity measures and the wealth gap that have brought the disparity that have brought people up to this point of violence, collectively?
The UK media have been mostly open in many cases and have been making the points that the openness has helped democratic process in solving problems. I respect them for their sense of justice, want them to come back to senses.
It is sad to hear comments from UK politicians saying: the riots are pure and simple criminal acts while 3300 cases were reported in just three days; it is the family problems and education should deal with the problems when wide range of people participated in the riots; the police should do their jobs despite the fact the riots actually started by the police killing a man; and 'one UK' should get the oppositions 'cooperate' and not make a proper argument on the fundamental causes that got people on the street in the first place.

The grueling task to negotiate something like budget cuts, could give the authority to distribute the money at the same time as well. They say, however, the both sides are wide apart and are too eager to show what defines the party before the election.
The budget will be cut no matter how, however. If the Congress do not agree, it automatically cut $1.2 trillion. The half of which is from Medicaid, the other half is military expenses.
