President Obama will be hosting the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit in Hawaii on Nov. 12-13. The leaders of 21 nations will join the discussions of the region's problems, including trades and security. Meetings with Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, Chinese President Hu Jintao, and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev is scheduled on Saturday. The President will be traveling to Australia after the meeting on 16 and 17. On Nov. 19, President Obama will be attend East Asia Summit in Indonesia. This is the first time for the United States to attend such a meeting.

President Obama touted his policies of doubling the US exports, and the US has expanded exports to the region by more than 30% last year. As the US economy reliance increased in the region, the emerging powers changed the political and economical scenes on the diplomatic front.
