President Obama announced in his weekly address that the Congress is to vote on ending tax subsidies to oil companies. It indeed is high time to put an end to the evil spiral of: corruption, subsidies, provocation in the Middle East, high oil prices, record profit, and repeat. When the all the TV programs seemed to have been paid by those oil companies, which boast of the record profits this year, we need to call out to people for support on this issue.
On Friday, I conducted a little survey asking people what they think of the primary on Tuesday in front of the Arlington Heights METRA station. Are you Democrat or Republican? Do you vote for the primary?
- I am an independent. Probably I will not vote.
- I am neither. I will not vote.
- (No answer). I will not vote on Tuesday.
Dorothy from Arlington Heights said "The healthcare reform is really helpful. I will vote."
The primary is just a few days ahead and all the GOP and Democrat candidates are campaigning in Illinois. I unfortunately did not have the chance to go any of the events but I heard people talking of Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum having come to the area. The excitement is in the air, or rather more like the real race or contest in which people either threatening or -- threatening, within the party and across the aisle as well.
