Today is the Memorial Day. There was a parade in town. we marched the street with signs, and distributed handouts. I can not say there is the sort of enthusiasm in this economy, but I found the people were willing to take the literature. It has our number and address in it.
The marching bands were excellent. The hot air, a little clouds in the sky, and faces of people of the town. We marched along, and continue handing out the little leaflets that we made at the office. "Cold reception" some said, and that probably describes the situation. There was no open claims that I got except "he is not for Israel". Then there started a discussion there and I left.
Is that their perception of the foreign policies of the Obama Administration, I wondered. When the settlements do not stop, when the thousands of prisoners are in hunger strikes, when the aid workers were attacked and killed, still this administration is regarded as anti-Israel?
The march was not too a long one, and the procession was in order. The fun part of was that the tea that we had after the march at my place. The vacation is almost over.
