According to Sen. Kirk's office, no schedule has been set for his returning to his office yet.
About street soliciting, I got somewhat diverse opinions on whether there should be some rules for those people standing in the middle of the busy street to ask for money.
While many agree that the municipalities can do to prevent possible accidents or even criminal activities, the answer to my questioning to what extent the rules should be or there should be rules at all varied.
"There should be some regulations", said an office worker from Rolling Meadows. "I know, it is such a busy street", a banker said. "I did not know about that (some towns ban solicitations totally), but regulations on all activities (may be too strict)".
May from our office agreed to impose some rules, and said there are many occasions that she sights them in the cities. At one time, she said, the ones from the Fire Department were collecting money. They were easily recognizable that they carried boots when they solicited.
In such cases when the officials solicit, I suppose they do not need a permit. There only should be an argument whether it is the work they should be doing for our tax money, and whether it would be safe to let people solicit on the street.
