To this day, the GOP's threats of tax hikes won't be meaningful to voters even if they say: cut spending. Their calls to limit mandatory spending went flat among voters who are more concerned about the medicaid and medicare. The 200 people that funds the campaign essentially corrupted the system and the democracy indeed is winning.
The Congress typically stalls before the election. But the election does a thing or so. The laws of democracy mandate the appeal to people; to contrast the policies in answering opponents' attacks.
President Obama in his Iowa speech proudly declared that the administration is not for extending tax cuts for the 1%ers. The immigration reform took place and the applicants lined up for legal status yesterday. What else would counter the GOP attacks? The GOP picks are both rich white male 1%ers.
The campaign on the Democrat side goes "fired up, ready to go". The rules of democracy dictate the more they appeal to people, the more secure their political standing is. Democracy or demagogy? Let us hope the election will lead to constructive debates that concerns all of us.
