The debate ended and we are cleared for the election day. I can not help being pretty much disappointed by the talks of both candidates. I expected much more from the US leadership. It has been but perhaps not anymore.
Let's put it out in a simple term. What Obama said in the debate was just the increase of spending. Every proposal that he mentioned are about spending.
But let us be fair. His approach to defense has some points that are lacking in Romney's. His plan for defense includes defending this nation from cyber attacks and from space. China shot down a satellite a few years ago. Cyber attacks reportedly stopped the central functions of the Iranian regime.
That being said, Obama's plan on spending on veteran's affair will not at least scare other nations. His reference to education in dealing with China is simply sounded like the union's money talk.
Obama had some points in saying the real military threats would be from the terrorists not from Russia. Romney, however, is right in accused Obama's hand-off approach to the Russian democracy and resulting the failed opposition protests. Romney said nations surrounding Russia are expressing concerns, include Poland for its scrapped missile defense plans. Georgia elected a pro-Russia parliament. Ukraine elected pro-Russia leader.
In all, what has Obama done in his first term? The hands-off approach corrupted all European nations into bankruptcy. Obama's 'race to the bottom' strategies again here. I spend, we spend, you spend, they spend. Is this a strategy? Who now is at the bottom? Iceland? Ireland? Greece? Spain? Or Italy?
The debate ended with a lot of crushed hopes for the US's leadership and its ability to cope with the situation. Let us hope whoever would be in the office will show us the leadership that is fit for the 'President of the free world'.
Back from the previous debate:
They have no plan whatsoever about the Libyan rules. The ambassador was killed. All Obama said was he grieved with his family. Does Romney have plans? Do any of his team have any plans? Do any of the European allies have plans?
Military attacks do not solve problems. The nation is in chaos, and will be so for the foreseeable future. Not even the campaign induced them to think of any idea to have a proper governmental organization in that places. Obama says Libyans thanked for the US support. They were invaded and killed of their leader, and all the US looked for is the oil that they have.
Unity is power. Unless the Islam world unite to fight against that sort of invasion, the Western nations will continue to invade under the name of Arab Spring. The aims and results are not democratization of those nations but eliminating possible enemy states as they call them.
Romney said he will cut taxes. He would cut social securities as well. He's counting on economic growth. What Obama terms the same old strategy that got us into this mess in the first place.
No one knows how that would work. He may be a regular guy on the corner but he can not tax the riches. This nation is crooked if the taxes are for little people. Even more so if criminal laws are. If he is not to use the forces why should he be spending more on defense?
