The Congress reconvenes today.
The looming 'fiscal cliff' at the beginning of the year 2013 is the agenda that should dominate the talks up there. The combination of the sequestration, the cuts across the board, and the possible tax hikes due to the expiration of social security tax cuts at the end of this year now is pressuring down the stock market.
The tasks here are to cut spending wisely countering pressures from possibly both parties especially those from the senior members of the Democratic party, and to raise taxes preferably from the rich who has been pouring money to the Republican party during this election. So how could the 99% raise our voices to say 'enough is enough'? After all, it is our tax money that is at stake.
The austerity measures, the budget cuts, have caused ground protests as well across the Atlantic. In Greece, whose government passed steep austerity measure prompted tens of thousands of people to go out to street and protest. The uncertainty of the economy adds another pressure to the market.
Let us hope this nation will be heading toward way to prosperity not political chaos. Let us hope the working class will be rest assured that the taxes will not go up and are used in a way to ease the disparty of this nation. Let us hope the lawmakers up there fight for better, fairer, and working America.
