Israeli-Palestine Truce; President Obama in South East Asia

The latest development for Israeli-Palestine truce:
  • Israel: sets the deadline of the peace talk to Thusday
  • UN sec. gen. Ba Ki-moon: Arab League sec. gen. Nabil al-Arabi in Cairo on Tuesday, Headed for Israel on Tuesday
  • Turkeish FM Ahmet Davutoglu, Arab FM's  (Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan): To visit Gaza on Tuesday
  • Cairo talks: Egyptian intelligence officials meeting with Israel and Hamas delegations
  • Pres. Obama: called Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
  • Russia: submitted proposal to UN to be voted upon on Tuesday
  • Sec. of State Hillary Clinton: headed for the region for talks 
The Palestine side and the Egypt have announced the truce will be close.  The truce, however, has not been announced as of Tueday 11:50 PM local time (Jerusalem).




The French center-right party UMP elected Jean-Francois Cope as its leader.

President Obama visited Myanmar and met with Aung San Suu Kyi.

President Obama met with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiapao and the
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
