The Immigration Law passed the Senate

The Senate pass the Immigration bill on Thursday.

"We all have our relatives coming from other countries, so it is OK with me if they are here legally," said D.  "We should send back home all those who came here illegally."

Having smashed her car by an illegal, who did not possess "nothing" including driver's license and car insurance, she was adamant in insisting all illegals should be sent back home.  "He did not even own the car, and the car owner did not have insurance.  They claimed bankruptcy."

More people have been sent back home under the Obama Administration, I told her.  It may not be a very humane thing to do, but the Administration has kept that policy for some time.  How about the border patrol?  The new bill just passed the Senate includes toughened border patrols.

"I do not know about that," she said.  "But certainly the illegals should not get scholarships and internship jobs."  There has been a case with a high school student who had won the prizes, when those legally be here struggles to pay the student loans.

Those illegals may have more incentives to study and we as a society might benefit from their talents, I told her.  "Think of those are here legally who could get his scholarship," she said.  It is a difficult problem and even more so at a time when the student loan rates will double on Monday.

What is the solution?  The Mexican economy must get better, and the Mexican politics must be stabilized.  Meanwhile, they do not do anything anyway, I said.  "We need to set up term limits," said D.  "They talk, they raise money, they win the election, then what?" I said.  "The taxes are up, and what do we get?  Do-nothing Congress."  D. shrugged her shoulders.
