End Stand Your Ground laws

Legalizing murder by guns -- Stand Your Ground laws grant you the rights to kill when you feel threatened.  The problem is in that there is no obligation to retreat from the scene according to the laws; the aggressor can harass a person before shooting him or her, such as in case with Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old black teen.  Once he or she gets infuriated, you are entitled to kill if you feel threatened.  That's what the laws say.

The Stand Your Ground laws should be repealed.  A number of singers expressed their oppositions by not performing in Florida against the laws.  NAACP has spoke against the laws.  Sen. Durbin (D-IL) promised that he will take up the issue in fall.  Sen. McCain (R-AZ) stated on Sunday that the laws should be reviewed.  President Obama on Friday said the laws should be re-examined.

The NRA and other advocates took appalling tactics this time.  The DV victim not entitled to Stand Your Ground does not prove the validity of the laws.  The aggressor should be prosecuted for sure.  She, as well as George Zimmerman, could have used stun guns, pepper sprays, or even call 911 instead of taking up arms to threaten him to kill.  The glorification process again is here.  Glorifying the possession and the use of guns, of both genders.

A life lost, is forever lost.  Zimmerman shot Trayvon to death.  And there is no laws here to prosecute him.

The Stand Your Ground laws should be repealed.  There is no one that grant a person to kill others on such shaky basis.  While it is clear that Zimmerman was the one who followed Trayvon, no one knows who started the fight between Zimmerman and Trayvon.  Zimmerman could have stayed in the car if he knew he would be prosecuted.
