Supposedly, the talk could have been: "It would affect the next election" vs "Why should the voters choose Democrats if nothing is get done".
So much is at stake. Taxes on the rich. Fight against NRA. Immigration against -- old establishment.
"The rich pay for the election (reportedly, Hillary got already million dollar donations). How do we pay for TV ads? How dare we tax them?" vs "All for the middle class, they voted for Obama and Democrats. The disparity distort this society and is not working properly. It is time to move on to cyberspace".
"The NRA pays and lawmakers are afraid. We are afraid of the backlash" vs "People continue to die on the street. If not now when". It indeed is time to pass sensible gun laws. The NRA supports were dwindling over the years relatively. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL) won the election against NRA backed candidate.
"The Senate win is enough to lure the Hispanic voters. How do you possible assume they react to real changes?" vs "I promised to Hispanic people" etc (remember his talk of American dreams?). If only by the white votes, Romney could have won the last election. The 'minority' votes mean much more now. That is why both parties are courting to get Hispanic community whose votes will be crucial in winning.
So do we still have reasons to vote for Democrats at all?
