There already are GOP votes for CR |
The Congress still has not reached any compromises and some parts of the US federal government is closed still. National parks, museums, and memorials are closed. It disappoints tourists and some outraged. But then, they can not vote.
Some members of Congress declared that they refused to receive pays during the shutdown. The Congress is now at CR or the continuing resolution, the temporary funding stopgap bill would fund the government for six weeks.
President Obama is to hold a talk with the Congressional majority and minority leaders at the White House this evening.

Putin is nominated for Nobel peace prize. This may sound ironic when he is known to be a hardliner on many of the issues concerning the national security while his role in Syrian crisis gave him certain credibility for preventing the US attacks on sovereign nation without UN Security Council mandates. Meanwhile, Snowden is named for Sakharov prize.

Former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi lost his battle to topple the government. Sitting PM Letta survived the confidence vote on Wednesday. Berlesconi is facing a vote to ouster him from the parliament on Friday.
