President Obama: the Philippines, ACA, Iran, and Immigration Reform

The help is on the way
President Obama in a press conference said the help is on the way for the people suffered by the storm in the Philippines.  The reports say the foods and other aid materials are piled up and they are having difficulties in distribution while the aid workers and local police must deal with looting and lawlessness.  What they need is the leadership; securing laws and orders is the priority.

The President talked about ACA or Affordable Care Act and said in some cases the healthcare plans will be extended.  He added it is not only the technical glitches that are the problems.  The application process is complicated and we must fix the complicated health insurance systems, he said.  Imagine how much the insurance company benefited from these complicated systems.  Those greedy corporations are exploiting us because they can.  Now the ACA issue is here; here is the excuses; and the premiums are up.

President Obama answered the questions on Iranian issues and said the sanctions worked and that the Iranians are on the table now for nuclear issues.  There has been no questions on North Korea which successfully conducted nuclear tests.

On immigration issue, the President said we are ready to move on and fix the broken immigration system.  When a large number of engineering students are from IC or India and China, it certainly is bad for the nation if they can not stay.  President Obama emphasized that some Republicans agree with the law.  What he did not mention was that they can also be voting for the election.

"If you like the plans, you can keep it" the phrase is haunting the President.  As if you would like an insurance plan.  Do you like your insurance plans?  Insurance is insurance -- it is some sort of a duty.  Like it or not, the insurance companies take your money away for something you do not even use.  And it is so expensive.  They make money for it.

Why should we like something the way they make money for it?  They make money for it and they are even making more money for it.  They raised premiums.  Where is the voices of people saying the insurance companies are taking more money from us?  They make money and not all of us are covered.  And it all makes sense because they are for-profit private companies.

So where is the free and fair market where all those companies should be competing for us?  Now that the website is down, we would know what sort of pressure there would be.  Or the complexity of the system.  In this system, the rich lives longer as if making money is blessed by the God.  This is a matter of life and death.  What then of those God's law abiding modest middle class people?  We all should be covered.  The ACA is about us the middle class for getting the coverage.
