The military industry, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop's Grumman, they are dominating our politics. They provoke and provoke wars around the globe. The trouble is, not only our tax money is flowing into the pockets of the CEO's of those companies, us the citizens must get there and get killed for their profits.
It is quite ironic that the nationalism, the patriotic nationalism, around the globe, in France, In the UK, in Japan, in Israel, is endorsed and funded by 'outer sources' namely the United States of America.
The logic may sound so illogical but is precisely telling the funding sources and the vital political support. Just as the US support has the tendency to promote its ideals, such as gender and racial equality, many of the proponents of such nationalism tends to have that role as well, selling the values of equality. Female leadership is among them. The leader might be burdened with violating the traditional rules and orders.
The US influence is enormous. Soft power is indeed important. Using soft power for instigating wars around the globe, however, will have consequences. The use of forces the Middle East left us nothing but depression and casualties of wars.
We had it. We paid for the war in Iraq and paid dearly for limited success in cautioning other nations of the States. More people around the globe now are pretty much convinced that the US is the major threat to the world peace. It does not mean that the nation is being less favored. They are taking it as that with covert and explicit political maneuver, the US is aiming at starting up wars around the globe for their profits.
Let us now rethink of our strategies in dealing with the conflicts around the globe. We say we look for peace and stability. Let us act accordingly. Stop arming other nations. Stop instigating conflicts around the globe. Let us use our soft power for promoting our values, instead of yet another Iraq War.
