#NoKXL No Keystone

Despite Obama's calling, the public does not seem to respond to any of his calls anymore.  Be it the immigration reform, the Burmese democracy, nor Keystone issues.

The Senate is posed to vote on Keystone issues.

The House passed the bill that would let the oil companies build Keystone Pipeline.  The pipeline project is loaded with problems such as environmental groups opposing it for its effects on environment as well as its effects on global climate change.

The fate of the bill is not certain.  While GOP and the supporters claim it would bring jobs -- temporary jobs for sure -- the scientists warn the construction of the pipeline would be "the game over" in that the oil production will produce huge amount of green house gas into the air.

The Senate will debate on the issue.  The head of the committee was lead by Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA).  This bill is contraversial for whoever care for the environment, as well as for this very political reasons; the senator is running for run-off in coming months after the midterm election that marked the landslide victory of the Republican party.

The oil companies have invested in this issue for a long time.  The massive amount of money flowed into the media.  Still, President Obama can veto the bill.  In such case, will they be voting just for the sake of her election?
