President Trump on #Charlotteville

President Trump reacted on this deadly neo-Nazis rally, and his response caused a stir around the globe.

The criticisms vary, some serious, some casual. Could he compare General Lee with George Washington just because he possessed slaves? Could he equate the far right with the oppositions, or the far left just because they are equally violent?

Meanwhile, people favored former President Obama's tweet, which garnered millions of likes.

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion..."  — Barack Obama, August 13, 2017

Rivalry affects ones' mind in some different ways. What of President Trump, with his predecessor? The media set up is the same with the case with his speech in Germany. The sheer number of the audience he got created a good contrast with Trump getting a cool reception from the European leaders.

As a TV figure, he must be familiar with the situation. Popularity matters. As for politicians, however, it is more of a thing about the hegemony, which is much more important. It means funding, directly affecting if not him himself then his party members the amount that they are getting from their supporters.

What of the media setup? He calls the media bias as 'fake news'. How is it that they care about racism all of a sudden, like it matters. Is he starting out a civil war? Or rather -- uniting the nation?
