What science tells you

While blind trust in medicine should be regarded as arrogance, ignoring statistics can be as bad for the majority.

It is within human nature that we'd be regarding others be the same with you or what you know of. The small sample that include you, however, may or may not represent the majority.

Consider a case with vaccine. A small percentage would get the disease that the medicine is for while the majority would be averting the risk. Consider your family member get the disease just because of the vaccine. Should you oppose the use of the medication? Should you rely on God or on the church organization and friends you make there?

Suppose your manager is such a person. Vaccine destroyed his family! He finds consolation among the church friends. Now he forces not only of his belief on vaccine, he insists -- all people aspire for his ways of life, somewhat written in the Bible (that I do not find anywhere in the Holy scriptures). "Get well", he says. Then I would be saved. From what?

While I can fully sympathize him for the situation, it is as bad as it could be for any that under the influence of his. Vaccines save people, for the majority of the people. Granted, ignoring the side effects and unfortunate victims is wrong, as human, and scientifically. That, however, should not deter people from using the vaccines. We should strive for finding better vaccines.
