The summit between Kim Jong-un of North Korea and Moon Jae-in started with a symbolic good-will gesture for peace.
Kim Jong-un, with his hand extended, walked across the border, which signifies the division that decides the world last divided nation. He crossed the border, and shook hands with Moon Jae-in, smiling. They exchanged words; reportedly, they exchanged warm words of welcome, showing the respect. Moon Jae-in praised Kim's courage; Kim replied with humility. Then Moon said, it's a pity that he (and his people) can not cross the border. Kim said: why not cross it now? He ushered Moon and they cross the border.
