Florida voted

Florida voted and in the closely contested race, the Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum lost the governor race.

The districts he won are mainly cities, which are traditionally Democratic.  Majority of white male voters voted for his opponents. The voters chose the status quo, especially in rural areas. President Trump during the race stated Florida would not be getting the federal money if his candidate did not win.

Some expressed disappointment (but not surprised), frustration (that Florida is still red) and blamed Florida (for its greed and racial prejudice) as Republican and Trump supporters cheered.
