The Trump Administration is taking the initiatives in lowering the prices of drugs. Not by setting the price limit as suggested by the Congress, but by competition. Using the exiting laws, the FDA and HHS would import drugs from Canada. The FDA would let import drugs from abroad.
The high cost of drugs drive people from even taking them or some ration them. Some drugs in the market for some time still cost sky high. More people buy drugs from abroad. The safety standards should be kept at all times. The governmental oversight is crucial in the steps.
Lowering drug prices for many Americans - including our great seniors! At my direction, @HHSGov @SecAzar just released a Safe Importation Action Plan. Our Governors will be very happy too! @GovRonDeSantis @GovofCO https://t.co/VIxmZWgYM2— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 31, 2019
Americans are dying because we are the only major country that allows drug companies to raise prices to whatever they want, whenever they want.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 23, 2019
