President Trump is accused of being a racist.
In a way, any President succeeding the very popular the first African American President would be accused of being insensitive about the topic. If Hillary Clinton were the President, she would be accused of ignoring the very important race issues. Probably her comments on her opposing daughter dating with a black person would be attacked in somewhat similar way.
The level of fury against President Trump is on another level, however. The President is inundated with labeling, name calling, memes, and all other types of comments. The President was elected as being the open and fair judge on those issues. What is motivating this level of personal attacks?
What is puzzling is in that his comments indeed is rather common, (even) among Democrats. You might hear them say something similar in some sort of ways. If they themselves say it out aloud, they do not stop others saying it out aloud. If it is not about former President Obama squinting (lifting eyes) photos then those people attributing everything about themselves as American. Could harassing or bullying be really 'American' at all?
The personal attacks and shaming the President may work for the election. Meanwhile, the citizens suffer. The open-minded, rather liberal side of the President can forever be muted in such cases, which is unfortunate.
