#DemDebate Oct 15, 2019

High expectations and conspiracy theories dominate the media on the #DemDebate tonight. What is not so much of a conspiracy theory is the candidates' accusations against on each other; the Hunter Biden's Ukraine/China deal, dubious Warren's backers, racial comments on, well on every one of them that are applicable, homophobic comments, age discrimination of course, and all sorts of questioning the presidential qualifications aka personal accusations.

So far, the polls do not show any particular favorites on the candidates nor agendas. Ask the people around: which candidate do you like the most? What issue matters you the most? And so on. There might be a consorted opinion on an issue; the media or public dislike of the President. The President's approval rates, which were going up before the Ukraine scandal, went down with the media broadcast and now is going up somewhat.

The Dems may blame President Trump for their open and unhinged racial comments in the media which indeed could not be out there under President Obama while only showing the internal conversation within the party. The weaker candidates get the most blames. Yet can that justify their comments even in the political logic? This is the time that matters the most; you'd lose the votes with the racial comments. The racial slur affects the donor sentiments.

As for the agenda, the polarization is the issue itself. Be it healthcare insurance, drug prices, student loans, charter schools, guns, minimum wages, minimum income, national security issues, politicizing the issues won't get us anywhere. It only gets the politicians for the battleground, possibly for raising money. Will they create the problems or will they be there for solving them?
