Let me write it this way; President Trump is the elected leader of this nation. The people elected him and the political struggle in Washington ignores his popular support by assuming all his policies damage either this nation or the Democratic party.
This is quote wrong. Not all his policies are bad for the nation, nor the Democratic Party. The case is more clear if we narrow the talks on immigration and security. The 'mainstream' Dems are sympathetic about immigrants, not only because they are their base – but mostly because they are. Aided by the labor union's money, the in-party struggle on the issue forced former President Obama issue executive orders for DACA people.
Esp. the President fights against the military industry, that out of thin air talking about honor and strategies pressing hard on sending troops. Sending troops for the honor of this nation costs money and human lives for very ambiguous goals that undefinable. It is highly improbable that the soldiers would ever distinguish Sunni and Shia while interfering their sectional wars.
