COVID-19: Do we get immunity against this virus?

Do we get immunity against this virus?

The reports from South Korea and China tell us a sobering story; a certain portion of the patients recovered do not possess antibodies. A small percentage of the people get re-infected of the virus.

The research conducted by China/US groups says the virus destroy NK/T cells. While the virus infect T cells, no evidence suggests the virus multiply, as in HIV virus. This is something SARS virus cannot. Then here comes another crucial point; does the spike of the virus have the same protein as HIV virus? The association with the HIV virus with the coronavirus has been refuted by the public media, as if the suggestion assets the theory that the virus is genetically modified.

The price of freedom

So far, the statistics suggest strong tendencies of overwhelming number of cases of infections and mortality among those nations of free world. The free movement of people helps spread the virus and the states elected and empowered by the people seem powerless before the voices of people looking for freedom.

The freedom encourage the creative people for innovative solutions while in this war against the virus, go behind the nations that proud themselves of rigid observation of the laws and strict discipline. Care for others and social unity may play a part in telling people stay at home for the sake of us ourselves and for others.

We will be with this virus until in the unpredictable future we develop drugs/vaccines that we'd be feeling safe. The doctors already warn another wave coming in fall. Until then, we will be mourning for the victims and continue telling ourselves resilience will win against the invisible enemy.
