The President in a speech at the White House today said Europe is suffering from spikes of infections of the same disease that almost got him. However, he refused the lockdown calls. He has been talking as if that is out of the question. Perhaps solely because of the economy and the economy alone, that certainly will impact his re-election chances.
Whopping 40% of the ICU beds in France got filled up by the COVID patients. Some polls indicate more citizens demand restrictions. So far, Madrid issued a state of emergency and some cities in the UK and France locked down.
While in the hospital, the President said in a rare tweeted recording that he is responsible for the coronavirus situation worldwide. Let us hope his undermining of the virus will not affect the policies of those nations that go for measures against the spread of the virus.
