The US bombed Iraq and Syria. The administration claims they targetted Iran-backed militia. Is this a warning against the new Iranian regime (will be sworn in in August), under the hardliner president Ebrahim Raisi?
Or, will this an assurance for the new Israeli government under PM Neftali Bennett (sworn in weeks ago), that the US won't be reasonable, or negotiable?
An airstrike is not a proclamation nor announcement. It is an act of war, and is at a cost of civilian lives, whether the administration calls "Iran-backed militia" or not.
While the "plane full of cash" as "a deal" may be an unpopular move, as former President Trump said, could air bombing Iraq and Syria be more than pleasing the hard-liner right-wing Bush factions?
Can you bomb a nation for negotiation?
Supposing, say France bombed a nation because it fails in negotiating a deal (some fishing deal). That would be outrageous (absurd). If the Chinese government bomb a nation, the outcry of the international community would be deafening. Is the US the only nation on earth that can bomb a nation that cannot fight back? Shall we join the international calls against Russia and Turkey following the move? Is that expected?
The hopes for the new international order under President Biden could never be higher.
