Debt ceiling: the Senate voted

Politics is not something you can ignore, even if you do not want any sort of hubris about current events.

At times, the situation is not very straightforward, either. If the Senate voted for raising the ceiling, is it a victory of the Dems that can continue negotiating on the Infrastructure Bill or it is a partial victory of the Republicans that could separate the debt ceiling portion out of the budget deal?

The chicken race continues and we suffer; the lawmakers and lobbyists may suffer, or gain; esp. Republicans. If you side with cutting the budget the rich will donate; for the sake of the next election, the economy must fail anyway in such a way that would not anger the rich.

Backing off the deal and caved in the demand and you still can claim the victory -- that's politics. At any rate, the economy and our private life will depend largely on how the pandemics play out.
