President Trump was sworn into office today. In his inauguration speech, he solemnly vowed to make the nation respectable again. He pledged to address the issues left by his predecessors, starting immediately. He emphasized the importance of reclaiming the nation's sovereignty, restoring safety, and rebalancing justice. He also highlighted his commitment to creating a proud, prosperous, and free nation.
"We will measure our success, not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars that we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into."
"From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer during every single day of the Trump administration. I will very simply put America first."
President Trump claimed credit for ending the Israeli genocide in Palestine. He expressed his desire to be remembered as a President of peace, emphasizing his commitment to be a peacemaker and unifier.
"My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier. That’s what I want to be, a peacemaker and a unifier. I’m pleased to say that as of yesterday, one day before I assumed office, the hostages in the Middle East are coming back home to their families."
A war criminal is a war criminal, even when Democrats are in charge.
"America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth, inspiring the awe and admiration of the entire world."
President Trump pledged to restore safety on the streets and vowed to address illegal immigration by declaring a national emergency at the southern borders. On the economy, he committed to combating inflation and declared a national energy emergency. He also expressed his ambition to send American astronauts to Mars, emphasizing the nation's pioneering spirit and ambition.
"The United States will once again consider itself a growing nation, one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, raises our expectations and carries our flag into new and beautiful horizons, and we will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the stars and stripes on the planet Mars."
What was even more remarkable than President Trump's speech was the moment that followed. When Carrie Underwood was prepared to sing "America the Beautiful," there was a technical glitch, and no music came. Undeterred, she delivered a stunning a cappella performance, captivating the audience with her powerful voice and grace.
Before his speech, Senator Amy Klobuchar emphasized the existence of three branches in our nation. She highlighted that the legislative branch (= Congress, the masterful, professional, and powerful politicians) operates independently from the executive branch.
So now we get it. That is where they are going. They are prepared to fight. But on what issue? The term limit? The budget? Or Israeli lobbyist money?
We will know what they mean, very soon.
