Former President Trump spoke at the RNC

Former President Trump spoke at the RNC on Thursday night. It was an acceptance speech that lasted for 90 minutes. He claimed he would be the president for both parties and spoke about his plans for what could be his presidency for another term.

He started the speech with his account of what happened at his rally when he was shot and wounded. While he did not show any sign of it, the bullet struck his upper ear. An inch off, he said, he would not have been able to be there. "I was not supposed to be here," he said, and the audience answered with a chorus -- no. He ordered a moment of silence for the victim at the rally. He died while saving his family, he said. The family raised millions of dollars, he said. He took out a cheque and opened the envelope. It's a million-dollar cheque, he said, donated by a donor for the victim's family.

The former President talked a lot about his policies during the speech, including his views on immigration, the economy, social values, patriotism, industry, security, and diplomacy. He cited stories of crimes committed by immigrants. He said he will cut taxes again. He told stories of how this nation was built. He said he would tackle the drug problems. He talked of his America-first policies. He said he would bring jobs back to the United States. He said, this world now is in chaos referring to the wars in Europe and in the Middle East. He said the Democrats are weak on crimes and claimed that he will make streets safer.

What has been puzzling me was that the cheap labor by a flux of immigrants would be welcomed by the US companies. While many of them may vote for the Democrats, they may not. The crime rates are indeed quite high, and perhaps that should be dealt with by leveraging law enforcement since many of the crimes were committed by the US-educated. Is it not the labor unions that oppose cheap labor? Do they not support President Biden, as he often claims himself to be the most pro-union President ever? Is this -- a bipartisan issue, an odd moment that the interests of both Trump and Biden coincide?

By not welcoming the immigrants, the companies may be able to secure the low pay. Whatever the case is, let's hope his agendas help us and our nation.
