What was particularly dramatic was the talk on gun control. It was quite impressive that the Senator showed his sympathy towards such violence and the victims. While quite evidently everyone knows what bills he'd vote for, it still makes a difference. Or not.
Then the Governor spoke. Hearing such a gentleman of his height and weight, with his VIP appearance and commanding presence, claim he has a gun in his car is nothing short of intimidating. He can indeed represent the US and its massive military might.
It is quite interesting to hear the Senator mention that illegal guns are the issue. There are more gun shops than McDonald's in this nation. Some dozens of people would be shot dead today, and even more people kill themselves because simply such an easy solution is around everywhere.
The Senator is young, and his sensitivity is making a good contrast with the senior Governor. The Republican party is particularly known for its rigid hierarchy. His words counting on the party decisions would need a revolutionary something like democracy or even populism.
